Rug Rippers. Help!

Soon my boys will find themselves without pyjama's because they keep ripping each others clothes!
Does anyone else have this problem and if so how have you stopped it?
Is there a spray you can get to discourage chewing and ripping? any ideas please, as OH is going to ban me from buying any new ones for next year

Just try and mix a very nasty HOT/BURNING paste/spray together and lather rugs in them

...you may have to re apply every day,except when it dosnt rain,but cheaper than replacing rugs,trial and error with ingredients
