Rug rubbing

My Inky is clipped and although the weather has been quite nice we are up on the hills so the wind is high. Since clipping him his rugs have rubbed his shoulders. I used to put baby oil on my old pony to prevent this but Inky has developed a reaction to it and more hair has fallen out

Anyone any ideas on products to put on to help prevent rubbing and also to promote new hair to grow????

Happened with my tb, we bought him a vest off ebay for £2 and its stopped it

I can't imagine any skin products will stop the rubbing, if a rug is going to ru it's going to rub, full stop.
Have a look at bossy bibs, their bibs are really good at stopping rugs from rubbing. Either that or sew sheepskin onto the rug where it rubs.

I have just purchased two Bossys Bibs for two of mine I ve not had chance to use them but I have seen and heard excellent reports/results.

The problem i have is that the Bossys bibs only start at 11hh and Inky is only 7hh

they do do bibs i think. If not on the website, perhaps contact them??

ahh, the do hoods, which in your situation would perhaps be a bonus? keeping the dirt off AND stopping rubs?

Me and a sewing machine nooooooo!!!!

I have emailed the bossy bibs to see if they can make one in mini me sizes!!! Its really made me fed up, got my next show in a couple of weeks and they look a mess!!

I just looked and they do do miniature sizes. Quite pricey at about 55 pounds, but well worth it. think of all that saved grooming time!
