My 2 boys like to play when they go out but its costing me a fortune! My 13yr old grabs hold of my youngsters rug and shreds it. Rugs with necks come in with no straps. This morning my youngster went out with a smallish tear and 5 mins later I heard the rip and he now has no side in his rug! Im going through a rug every few days.
I cant let him out with no rug as he is too fine plus he comes back in with bites. I cant separate them either as not enough fields.
Anyone any ideas as to what to try next? Thanks

I have same problem, spray rug in something that tastes nasty, fly spray works but i have resorted to cheap air freshener spray!

I have bought a "no bite" spray, but he grabs the rug that quick, the rug is ripped before he tastes it!

What type of rugs are you using? My boys are very playful too, but I find 1200 denier rugs stand up to the rough treatment much better than the lower denier rugs.

Ive tried all types and deniers, nothing is safe! I feel bad for him because he is going about in tatters while Riddlers rug are perfect and its him that is doing the shredding

Mine just hulks out of hers she doesn't even need help lol went through 3 rugs in as many weeks! And that's why she hasn't had a rug in since probably November 😂

Look at Axiom rugs on eBay. They are 1800D. It's the only rug I own that my youngster hasn't ripped on my older horse. Even my 1200d rug is torn. Also use Yum Yum spray.

I'd put a trashed lightweight (maybe duct tape any massive holes back together) on top of a non-trashed rug. A friend of mine does this and finds it helps prolong the life of rugs. Also you can sometimes pick up job lots of rugs at auctions etc quite cheap, which may do as a supply of scruffy rugs to put on top of the nice ones to protect them
