Rug size

im buying a 14.2hh fell pony.He needs a rug in the winter months and since it has been freezing i am going to order him one for his arrival.Any idea what size i would need?thanks

Can you not ask the owners what size he is... At a guess I would say about 5ft9

My yard manager has 2 dales ponies that are 14.2 and a similar build to a fell and they are both in 6ft 3" rugs and my 14.3 TBx was in 6ft. I think you need to find out before you waste your money x

14.1hh Highland - 6ft
14.2hh Dales (big 14.2hh) - 6,6ft
14hh BIG BONED cob -6,3ft

--It is insane. I play'd safe with my boy when I got him as a 2 year old and went for 5,9ft. Honestly if I was guessing I'd go for 6,3ft. You can always put a rugs front straps first holes and put the belly straps right up, you can't put more holes in a smaller size.

I'd order a 6ft and a 6'3, try them on when he arives and then send the one that doesn't fit back.
