Rug suggestions for a high withered TB please?

I have a high withered TB and did have problems when I first got him of him getting sore over his withers. That was before the seamless nylon lined lightweight rugs came out, (I've had him 16 years)
First one that solved the problem was the Rambo Wug and I have stuck with Horseware rugs ever since, apart from a few mistakes which ended up making him sore again.
Now I am very happy with the Rambo Duo. Very pricey but I think it's well worth it. You get a 200g liner with it but I have since purchased a 100g liner so I have complete versatility.
It's all nylon lined and I find this works because other cotton lined rugs would work backwards when he moved around and then it would pull down tight onto his withers when grazing but the nylon lining allows the rug to slide forward when he puts his head down and that relieves the pressure over his withers. Also he has a low set-on neck so the fixing at the front of the Rambo is the clips onto a ring so it is slightly lower down and gives a bit more room for his neck when he's grazing and again helps to stop the pulling downwards.
The outer shell is a medium weight, you can put the liners in the washer and the neck cover is detachable, what more could you want from a rug? Leg straps maybe, I wish they would at least add another D ring inside so you could add some. I prefer leg straps because the fillet strap always get covered in poo:(
So all in all I thoroughly recommend the Rambo Duo:D

Thank you, that makes sense - off to check out prices right now:D

Never had any problems with any rugs with my TB apart from Fal Slumberdown ones rubbed his shoulders something chronic in a day wearing it, and Masta ones came up large.

You could always use a shoulder vest - perhaps try a padded one?

My 16hh high wither TB has a 6 foot Premier Equine one, the very heavy weight one (1680 denier and 450g) with integral neck. It's going into it's 7th winter now and is still like new and doesn't rub at all. They do come up large tho...

Personally I don't like Masta's, poor fit and don't last as long as other brands IMO.

Ok my boy is a Shire x TB so probably a bit chunky than yours, but he is high withered. I found that weatherbeetas fitted him really well, but this year I splashed out on a rambo and the fit is brilliant :) did have to go up from a 6'6 to a 6'9.

Wow, that sounds like good value, another one to bear in mind, thank you:D

I agree!

I've found that Premier Equine are great for TBs, wide enough across the chest and high on the shoulder to fit nicely. Mastas seem to sit very low and be baggy. I bought a JHL heavy weight turnout last last year and that is also a really good fit and was the cheapest HW TO rug in the shop!

I've used rhino wugs, various weatherbeeta rugs & premier equine on my high withered TB,they've all fit well & not caused any probs.

My tb has high withers and a big chest and shoulders.
I found the weatherbeeta takas fitted him nicely especially the high necks which come forward so don't put pressure on the withers. However the Landa rubbed.
The premier equine fitted well round the shoulders and withers but was so deep that it hung too far down his legs to be safe.
I have mark todd and amigo rugs both of which came up a little tight round the front and rubbed his shoulders.
I also have a FAL I have bought for this year which looks a good fit but he hasn't worn it yet.
