Rug to fit a barrel chested shetty?

As my oap shetty mare has a very thick coat and doesnt seem to dry out between downpours, we have decided to rug her.
So, rug purchased in correct size and fitted to pony.......only to find the bl**dy belly straps are too short!!!

Now I have a NF in one of these a size bigger, and fits him fine!
I have lengthened the straps as much as I can but they just wont meet the clasp the other side.
I wouldnt say she is fat (you can easily feel her ribs) but she has a HUGE barrel of a chest!
So can anyone reccomend a rug that will fit a very deep chested shetty, that the belly straps are going to fit, but not be like a tent on her (she is only 32 inches!)?
Oh the rug we got was one of those spotty thingy's made especially for mini's!

I am using Weatherbeeta foal rugs on my mini shets (one of which is a little barrel on legs - not fat - just round bodied !!). They have hardly any fill, keep the pones dry in the heaviest rain & actually fit them !!

Im sure you can buy the extenders for the straps...was looking the other day as I washed a nice fleece and then like a prat tumble dried it. Now same as your rug i cant get the straps to meet LOL

Toto has very broad shoulders, most of his rugs are Weatherbeeta, they tend to fit best
