Rug Washing Machine

Hi,

Yard owner is looking to buy a washing machine for rugs. He has normal one for bandages and numnahs etc but wants one for heavy rugs.
Does anyone know anything about what they use in the equine laundry or have an industrial type one in their yard?

I saw an advert earlier in the year in H&H for washing machines suitable for horse rugs. They were ex military and if my memory serves me right I think they were Miele.

Miele would probably be your best bet.

The main thing to think about before you buy an industrial washing machine is to ensure you have 3 phase electric. Most industrial washing machines run on this.
But god is it worth it, we couldn't have lived without ours when we were on the big yard.
Can't remember what brand it was but i'll post back if i remember.
Ours was second hand from a care home so a very decent price

We have a Miele at home, cost £1k so i dread to think what an industrial would cost!

Yard has big industrial one but no 'name' on it,just says 'iT information technology' and a '35' (which is to do with the size/capacity of the machine). It's plenty big enough for massive heavyweight stable&turnouts. Sorry,don't know how much it cost-it was here before us!
