Hi,
I bought a cheap turnout rug that was supposed to be 100g, but I suspect that is is more than that as feels quite thick. Is there an easy way to tell what weight it is if there is no label?
Thanks in advance

I use the hanging scales from the £shop, the ones for weighing suitcases. Put the rug in a haynet and it hang it on the scales. Think they may also be known as tension scales ?‍♀️

Did u buy it second hand? Does the previous owner know what brand it is. I don't think there is any way of knowing what weight the filling is unless you posted a picture and someone might recognise the brand and identify it that way.

I wish all rug makers would mark their rugs with weights next to the size. i have two Ruggles rugs, one is a 50g and one is a 100g and they’re similar colours. I‘m forever getting them muddled, especially at the start of winter - I need to get a thick black marker pen out. I like the way PE necks have the weight embroidered on them.

I was just thinking this yesterday. Would make things easier when your sorting rugs out

I mark mine with size and weight once I've checked they fit ok. On tail flap and at front.
Saves a lot of head scratching with a couple of identical but 100g difference rugs in particular.
