Please can anyone help with interpreting rug weight for me?

What woulod 300gsm polyfill be - light weight, medium or heavy

and what does 1000 denier ripstop outer mean, as opposed to 600 denier?

It was much easier in the old days when you just had a green canvas new zeland with a jute rug underneath if you needed it

ok. 300 gsm is what I believe to be heavy weight.

the denier is the toughness of the fabric. So the higher the denier the harder it will be for the blighter to shred it!!

Does this help? (I'm prob wrong now!)

OK - thanks

- just realised tonight that I might want an extra rug and I found some on ebay but wasn't sure what I might be buying!

yep, generally speaking 300g is thought of as a HW rug, 200g as MW, although you can of course get heavier than 300g in some makes. Dont forget the denier rating is the strength of the fabric, i.e. the higher the number the less likely it is to tear or rip
