So the 4 yo has outgrown her current rug and will have to have it swapped pronto as it's starting to leave rough patches on her chest. She's currently living in a 6'9" MW with a neck and I have a 7' going spare HOWEVER it doesn't have a neck. It's one of those Rhino wugs with half a neck and the horse in question has a clipped out neck. Will she be okay with this set up, or do I need to toddle off and buy a full neck 7'?! Horse goes out in the day and in at night.

Here's a 'lite' version of the rug I have: http://www.rideaway.co.uk/RAMBO-WUG...purenet_feed&gclid=CLaDpsL2grwCFQ3JtAodTmYAnQ

Or buy one cheap on Ebay to last a few weeks. There seem to be a few 'Koda Horseware' rugs on, all as auction rather than buy it now, which have very low bids on. There's a 7' heavy turnout at £31 with 2 hours left, and a medium weight currently at £6 with 1 day to go...

She should be absolutely fine in a Wug. :)

I would also make do for now and only buy her, her own wardrobe once she's stopped growing width wise as well as height wise.

Ooh great thanks, will take it up tomorrow! Very true, she's gone up and in again so she's got quite a bit of filling out to do :eek3:

I know they just keep growing the inconsiderate beasts .

Ungrateful horse.

I had this last year but I was prepared!

Last year Roo was a 6'3-6'6. My old girl Pink is a 6'6 but wide So sensible me, when they both needed new rugs, bought a 6'6 and a 6'9. Roo wore the 6'6 and and Pink wore the 6'9. Both a smidge too big not not unwearable, the tailflap just came down a little further.

However my smugness has been short lived as Roo is now 3.5yrs and already in the 6'9. By next winter he's going to be a 7ft, just to spite me.

P.s in answer to your question OP, get a chest extender to make the rug last the rest of the winter because anything you buy now won't fit by next winter anyways.

Your horse of course, we all love pics

If you insist :D
