Another nosy post but do you?.I never know what to do for the best.Or do you bring them in?.I know most horses have shoes on and if they are going to get struck they probably will. But buckles and legs straps, belly straps all have metal on them. This is more of a general question than a panic!.

I have never really thought about it. Bailey is in anyway and Chess has no shoes but I would probably put a rug on her

Be interesting to hear peoples views.

To be honest I have never worried about my horses being struck.....never. Not because I don't think they will do I just don't.........so if mine had rugs on they stayed on and if they didn't have them on I wouldn't go put them on. (He does have shoes on aswell)

horse's that have shoes on are earthed (they are standing on the land- like your elic fence box should be eathed- if you have one)... so putting a rug on is neither here or there really.. it's one of those things that you hope will never happen. You have to be more worried about the other horse's around each other that may kick out...Years (20) back my pony got killed by a kick to the temple when out with other horses when a thunderstorm came along...
