Rugs for a Coblet

I gave up, sold them all and got a Rambo Optimo. Its the only rug that seems to fit and allows her to move without being throttled! I wont use anything else now.
I did look at this. Might see if anywhere locally does them so I can try it. I literally hate rugs!

I got an almost new one in the summer for £50 and a second one for £100 in winter last year, and have bought liners for them whenever I see them cheap. By the time I sold all the others I broke even, and I've saved so much money washing and reproofing as they fit in my washing machine.

Please do let me know if you see one. I would prefer to buy cheaper than £200 odd! Plus liners.

Do they do a 50g liner at all?

Really, try Ruggles. They usually have a few with good discount in their clearance section so worth a try.

Other that that I've found Mark Todd rugs to be generous enough for the big lass.

I emailed them yesterday and she said they aren't designed for cobs and probably wont fit him. Which surprised me if I'm honest. I don't really want to order one and have to pay to send it back if it doesn't fit :(

That's very odd. They are the only rugs that go on my cob and do up! But she is long enough to buy the heavy horse version so maybe that's the difference.

If you can find a new old stock Shires (or a new model if they still do them) that has both clips and buckles at the chest, they go pretty big at the chest.

This sort of rug which looks like a 10+ year old design.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shires-W...hash=item52001f35ac:m:mJhZ3p1VUYVH5Hq2in-GvvQ
The thing with this is that if the chest straps aren't long enough, it's not hard to put a longer strap in.

A (slightly) newer version with a neck. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shires-T...hash=item3ac7267756:m:mQSke1azB0abzD8gNeGFL7g or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/new-shir...hash=item3ac9ebdf69:m:mXzgSTpmnb7MlUBE52PFWvw

Now this is a recent one and look at the lack of adjustability at the chest. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shires-T...hash=item440e672922:m:mk8-iIFySG7xWfAmS12K3xA

OK, so 6ft3 needed. This is a heavyweight but it is the old style with the straps I'm on about. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shires-S...hash=item440e6729e9:m:mpl3FVjSlufLYj7aIEfLdaQ

I got a cheapy from eBay a few years ago, Harrison Howard. Totally swamps my guy around the shoulders so slips back. Only use it as a spare if really desperate now. Maybe worth looking at?

My cob is 6 ft and his Ruggles is quite generous on him. Is he Welsh or Irish? My friend's cob is Welsh and has a much thicker set neck than mine.

Irish. Yep his head and neck are probably bigger than my mare who was IDx and 16.1hh! He is in a shires today and its so tight I felt awful :(

Rambo dont but Kramer do liners that fit. I have a fleece liner which is really useful for adding a little bit of weight but not over heating them.
Oh that's super handy thank you. Well I have just ordered one for him to try. If it fits I will get some liners. Fingers crossed!
