Rugs for broader shoulders please.

I've just bought an Ish rising 5 .tried her in Weatherbeeta and Horse ware but a 6 6 is too big and a 6 3 is too tight on the shoulders. I've mainly used these rugs so any advice re different ones to try please.

I have found swish equestrian rugs are generous round the shoulders.

Would a chest expander work with the 6ft 3? A friend has big fronted cobs and they work brilliantly for her.

I find that Mark Todd turnout and stable rugs fit well on my broad shouldered Irish cob. However, the fly rug was way too tight and I felt like I was putting him in a straight jacket! The Amigo bugrug XL is a better fit for a fly rug but still not perfect.

Musto are good for horses with broad chests and shoulders.

We have a big ISH and really struggled with rugs, we went through lots trying to find a fit! Amigo XL range is perfect for him.

I will try the Amigos ,I presume they are all cut slightly differently depending on brand.

Shires are excellent! Fit both of my broad shouldered horses really well.

The XL version of the horseware rugs are brilliant! They are advertised as being 20% deeper in the chest

Failing that I'd definitely go for the Horseware Optimo. They are HUGE around the chest and shoulders. Fits our 2 Irish Draughts well (with room to spare!). My mare is a 6'9 in every horseware rug she has but needed a 6'6 in the optimo. They come up huge in every way. Our other draught also needed to go down a size in it.
