I'm looking to get my mare a thicker rug for the winter, and not sure which rug brand will fit her best. She's very chucky around her neck and shoulders.

I've got my eye on either a Fal-Pro Chieftain, or a Premier Equine. Has anyone any ideas which is likely to fit her better, and whether the rug sizing is generous or not so I've got an idea of which size to get her?

My rather chunky chap only fits 2 makes of rug. the old style weatherbeeta and premier equine. I cannot praise the premier ones highly enough they are very good value for money and not one rub mark!

I have just got a Weatherbeeta for my cob, fits perfectly. His last one was a weatherbeeta too and lasted a good six years so cant reccommend them high enough!

Thanks. Just thought I'd make sure they were likely to fit her before getting one mail order. Fingers crossed she'll fit whichever one I choose.

My QH is big built (like a tank!) and WB fit her but masta hangs off her withers and seemed to make her a bit lame ; so it was swiftly disposed of.

Rambo are a good fit too

We highly rate Masta's for biggies and our shire cross is well fitted. We were going to try a premier Equine but weren't sure if they would be 'big' enough. I know now

weatherbeeta's are always fab - the fit my my big shouldered IDxTB. I've also got Mark Todd's which are good, but i find masta's a bit tight round his neck.
My friend's massive 17hh pure ID wears a premier equine and it fits like a glove. and very very good value for money too
