Bit of an odd one! But my lad is clearly a giraffe - his neck doesn't look particularly long but all my full neck combo's never cover to the top of his neck! and I always think he'll be drafty :o especially when he's clipped! Does anyone else have any simular giraffe-like horses and can recommend any rugs that do the extra length on the neck? Thanks :p

I bought a Shires lightweight combo recently, stitched on neck, seven foot. It was about £40.00 and the nice lady knocked it down a bit more because no one wanted such long rugs.

It is ideal over the top of other rugs on colder/wet days, or on it's own on better days. The length of the neck is very generous, goes right up to his ears regardless of what he is up to. The cut on the chest is good, no pulling back and it is very deep. Horse is a 17.2, deep and long necked show horse, so he is not an odd shape as such, just a big horse.

I would imagine they do the same cut/shape/size in middle and heavy turnouts. Mine is well made and I am very pleased with it so far. In the depths of winter I will use it as a pac-a-mac over the top of the very expensive turnout rugs he has. I find it much easier to take off a wet sheet and find a dry heavy rug underneath, rather than mauling soaked mega heavy big rugs, which then of course, take an age to dry.
