This may sound stupid but is there a reason why turnouts dont come with a belly warmer section? I've never seen one, other than on a tiny rug for shetlands (and they probably don't even need it), maybe I'm missing something but you'd think they could include a piece to go under the belly to help keep the heat in, I've always thought this must get a bit draughty! I'm not suggesting all horses need them but my tb would have appreciated one.

Ditto! Ive only ever seen one, a FAL one for a turnout rug, and that went for a silly price on ebay!

I dont know Anywhere that sells them but it makes a lot of sense considering the bely is usually the dirtiest part after they have laid down!

One of our german wholesalers has them, but I have a feeling due to a patent (on fixings) we cannot sell them in the UK

However you can get Dress Circles Sherpas - downside is they will get soggy for turnout

My friend just bought a hw stable rug from Decathlon which has this feature I think it was only £50 ish!?!? Could always go for that and have a lw turnout over.

I have just bought a 200g turnout under rug from Fal to layer under a turnout rug. It has a waterproof belly pad. You can view them on the Fal Pro website or on sites which stock Fal rugs like Redrae Saddlery or Long Melford. I bought mine a little cheaper by phone from a seller I was passed on to by Fal when I made an enquiry. The Silver Interactive ones are about 120 pounds, but I think non-silver are available cheaper.

One of the stable rugs that can with my mare has a belly warmer. Think it's made by Aerborn (sp?) however is too small for my mare so it now belongs to my other horse!

Weatherbeeta Taka t/outs and their Fusion stable rugs have sections which come under the belly, and cover most or all of it underneath... My boys' wearing his fusion stable rug tonight, which I got bnwt off ebay for about £35

The snuggy hoods people have the snuggy jams which can have tummy inserts attached to them. Unlike the sherpa however, you can have these made in their turnout material which makes them ideal for under turnout rugs or for particularly gross horses in the stable.

Eskadron certainly do a stable rug with a full tummy section which is really snug and i have a feeling they have a turnout rug with one also.

Some of the expensive ones do, but I have a couple of "covers" that the belly straps go through. If you cannot find one, let me know as I don't really use the ones I have now being converted from cold TBs to hot hairies.

The new style Rambo Wug with three straps is cut so that it almost meets in the middle under the belly, at least on my Irish Sports horse.
