Can anyone offer any good advice on how to stop rugs with a neck on from rubbing horses manes??

i tried a mane protector, whick was a silking lycra material that just went round the horses neck..

it didnt stay in place..the horse was wearing it like a bandanna round his ears by morning..lol.

my chestnut looses his mane if i use full neck rugs all the time, last year i went for the rambo wug for out doors and just a standard rug indoors and hey presto we still had mane come spring time, so my full neck ones are now kept as spares

deffo recommend the wug. No seam and you get good neck cover even though you don't go all the way up.

Thing is, when you rug in autumn, the coat is just starting to change so the follicles are more sensitive and the hair falls out easier. If you combed mane and tail you would notice more hair than usual.

You can also get those snuggy hood things than protect the mane.

Wise old Tally, I now know why the floor in me shelter is currently covered in tail hair :) (or maybe its my hair, from tearing it out lol :D )

I am making inserts of silky material, which velcro to inside of rug necks. That way I can easily take them out and replace with clean ones, whilst washing others. Found keeping them very clean helps, and of course, we can't wash and dry stuff on a weekly basis in winter (or any other time of year, if you're me ;) )

Gasp!! You must patent that or you'll regret it!!
