rugs not returned from cleaning

Just wanted to warn everyone to make sure a comprehensive list of rugs is taken before sending off for cleaning/repair. I sent a lot off in June and did not get collector to write a list of what he took. They were returned and its only now that I am looking for warmer outside rugs that I find all my really expensive Rambo turnouts are missing. Not a lot I can do about it as its my word against his but wanted everyone to be careful. Has anyone else hears of this happening?

I always put a list of whats there in with my pile of rugs when they go for cleaning, ie "Please find eclosed the following for cleaning..." I keep a copy for myself, and check them off when they come back.

Too late for you now I know OP but if it is any help our rug cleaner writes down a fully itemised list of rugs that have been taken for cleaning on headed stationery and she signs and dates it.

Always in the past the rug collector wrote a detailed list and gave me a copy. I changed to this new company as he was offering 50% discount to certain customers. Now I know why he can offer such a discount! Will ALWAYS make a list in future! Hard way to learn!! Thanks for all your comments!
