I buy more expensive rugs (Rhino/Rambo) and find they do last much longer.

It's really something I don't like to scrimp on

I have a rambo that I inherited with my last horse, 8 years ago. It looked at least 5 years old then; at 13 years old, its still going strong! so there is surely something to be said for paying more....

however i am a sucker for a sale, and havent paid over £50 for any of my rugs! and unless father christmas is nice to me, i dont think i could ever force myself to part with the money for another rambo...

I wouldn't pay £200 for a rug, but I would always try to get a good quality one, but in the sale, because in the end if the horse trashes it it doesn't matter how much it cost.

Depends on the horse. I treated one of mine to a Rambo Duo (most Ive ever spent on a rug) because he treats his rugs very well! Whereas the most Ill spend on my other who's a rug-trasher is about £60 (WB Orican Standard) because he does have a higher turnover of rugs unfortunately...!

I've never spent more than £30 on a rug and they have all lasted for years. The only one I had to replace was the fly sheet that the mice ate!!

I work in an equstrian shop and we sell Masta Zing H/W T/O full neck for about £50!!! they are really nice, you can get it in black/brown/pale pink/turquoise/deep blue!!
And thats only 1 of the good but cheap rugs.

I dont spend loads on rugs, i bought Buddie (welsh A) a PINK Cuddly ponies rug last winter for £45 and within 2 months it was in 3 pieces!!!!

i once paid 180 for a rug..... on a veteran horse who over the 11 years i have had him, has never ripped a rug - it was 2 weeks until it had a slight tear!!!!
i just stock up on cheaper rugs in the sales

never bother having them repaired, just buy new.
