I have a clydesdale cross horse, who definately takes after the clydesdale in him. He has quite a large neck - what rugs have quite large neck openings as I am finding a lots of rugs are too tight at the front for him?

Weatherbeeta tend to in my experience....
But Rhino tend to be very narrow so avoid them (again just in my experience)

I use weatherbeeta rugs for my big chested cob. Also you can get a rug extension to put at the front (cost about £10) that is quite good as I find some of the bigger rugs just fall back and are then still tight at the front!

Ronnie is very deep chested and i find that weatherbeeta's are brilliant for him

They have a lot of space for movement around the chest area and are good overall quality too!

fal used to do a deep chest rug? dont know if still doing as the company was sold! could you not use your local saddler on a try and buy or return? put a cotton sheet on first to keep rug clean! rambo are quite generous! amigo seem to suit the slimmer build.good luck

thanks everyone - my last coloured horse had various horseware rugs which fitted him fine - and did fit Arnie when he first arrived - but as he is growing they are just too tight for him!
