I have a colored hogged cob, LW at 15HH - i do dressage (low level) and will be showing under saddle next year - cob classes and colored classes.
Now, can someone tell me the rules around tweed, colored shirts, jods, ties and stocks for different disciplines?

So for showing classes:
I have a Green tweed with a smart green velvet collar
Long black leather boots
Navy blue flesh harness velvet hat - really want a green velvet one now though to go with my jacket - does anyone wear green and is it correct?
Would a tie and coloured shirt be correct or colored stock?
What colour gloves? dark brown?
Eventually would like to show at county level?

Dressage
Same as above but i do have a smart navy jacket also - is this more correct? also if i wear my tweed would it need to be tie or stock?

Thanks

8.5. Ridden Dress

The impression to aim for is smart, workmanlike, safe and comfortable.

8.5.1. Hat: Correctly secured British standard skull caps/riding hats up to current British Standard must be worn at all times when mounted.

8.5.2. Jodhpurs: Cream or fawn breeches or jodhpurs. Style of boots optional.

8.5.3. Jacket: Tweed riding jacket, with or without a plain coloured waistcoat.

8.5.4. Shirt: Light shirt with collar and tie.

8.5.5. Gloves: should be worn.

8.5.6. Jewellery: should not be worn.

I've been told brown gloves with tweed :)
I personally would wear navy for dressage but afaik tweed is allowed. It's a white stock with navy and a coloured stock with tweed :D

Wear tweed for dressage, I was always told that your thought of as 'knowing what your doing'.

With regards to tweed you shouldn't really have a velvet collar for traditional, workman types.

I would stick with your blue hat for showing.
Shirt and tie is correct not a stock ,although you could wear a coloured stock with tweed for dressage.
Gloves brown.
You should also wear spurs , dummy ones are ok.
If you want to wear your navy jacket for dressage you should wear either a white stock or a shirt and tie with it.
Shirts, ties can be any colour that suits your jacket.

Ok showing turnout:

Tweed is perfectly fine. If you ever fancy changing it, go for no velvet for cobs and hunters. But this is not going to count against you at all.

Your boots are perfect. Also remember that you should wear spurs with black leather spurs. If you don't want to wear them, get dummy spurs to complete the look.

Despite the above comments, green is perfectly fine and can look very smart. It's more unusual, because it's difficult to get hold of, but you do see it in the show ring. The only colour (assuming that you are female) that is incorrect is black.

Your shirt can be any pastal colour you wish, but probably best to stick with the workman-like cream, pale yellow or blue with a cob. Tie needs to be pattened, but other than that can be any colour. Best tip is to look at your jacket's overcheck and pick out colours that will tone in smartly.

Dark brown leather gloves.

Dressage

At dressage it's actually considered (so I've been told) more correct to wear tweed than navy at prelim and novice level, though no one seems to do this and tweed is rarely seen. Above those levels it's navy or black. You can wear a shirt and tie, so your normal showing outfit will be perfectly acceptable. You could also, however, go for a coloured stock with your tweed. Keep in mind, cream does not count as coloured.

If you do want to go navy, then definately stock. This time cream or white. Usually it looks smarter to go cream stock with cream/ivory breeches, and white stock with white breeches.

Hope that helps!
