rumer stud?

A bit overpriced I thought but that's going back about 2 years.
Have bought of Carron Niccols about 10 years ago when she was still in surrey (sussex?) and got a very nice horse for a good price.

I bought a horse from them in February. PM me if you want to chat but I can say everything in the open here as I think they are ok.

The horse is very nice. The girls seemed friendly and as honest as you expect from a dealer. When I was there to pick him up my lorry broke down, leaving me sitting there for 3 hours waiting for breakdown. I sat and watched the girls schooling the horses, and they all rode nicely and seemed kind, I didn't see any dodginess or excessive use of gadgets etc. OK they knew I was watching, but by that time I had paid for the horse! I watched them fussing over a new arrival (they didn't see I was watching this part) and they were genuinely kind to a nervous pony and settled it well.

He has turned out to be pretty much what they said, he can be spooky but then he was a 4 year old warmblood, so you expect it isnt going to be a dobbin. I don't think they have a lot of turnout and mine definitely didn't know what to do in the field! But at least he is not a bully, and he is now happy turned out with a quiet friend.

I would go and see a horse there again. The price was reasonable. I would have like it to be less but I think the horse was worth it, and so does my instructor, vet and an SJ coach who uses our yard.

Hope this helps but let me know if you want to ask anything else.

Friend bought from them and ended up returning 3 horses within the warranty period ( for no reason other than they were just not quite what she was after ) and they were pretty helpfull and never argued about taking them back. 3 of the horses she had were warmbloods and although not rspca cases all needed feeding up when they arrived.
The horse she ended up keeping is a very sweet natured boy and pretty much as they described, he took a while to settle and had obviously never encountered electric fencing but all problems were very minor and the sort of thing you expect with a new horse and they all vanished after a few weeks.
Think they are perhaps slightly pricey compared to buying privately but then most dealers are.
If i was looking to buy i would certainly go and have a look it is a big yard and she always has lots of horses in and gets new ones in from abroad every few weeks.

I went to look at her yard and was shown a number of horses. From what the grooms said I realised they were way over my price bracket, when Caron came back I said they were very nice, and could we discuss the price - she had shown me horses (she wasn't there when we arrived) that were £10k over my budget, despite having been told what I had to spend - I was not impressed - a totally wasted afternoon - and to be honest I thought the prices she was asking for those horses I was shown was way way over the top! I wouldn't go again.

Very nearly bought a horse from there, went to see a good few there. Very knowledgeable and the returns policy is great. I would not hesitate to buy from there. And I didn't think the horses were overpriced either.

I went and looked at horses there last year. She was very nice, though kept showing me horses out of my price range which was a bit of a waste of time, especially as she had plenty within my budget.
I would go back again when I'm ready to start looking again. A lot of the babies have come straight form the continent, so might not have seen as much as a homebread.

I know someone who bought a horse from Highfield Stud, Richard Selleck in Reading......the previous owner and importer of the horse in question were European Sports Horses at Rumer Stud I believe. This horse was only owned by my friend for under 2 months before being diagnosed with Navicular! It was put down recently after being sent to Liphook where they found issues with the back legs too and basically written off. If buying anything from Euro Sports Horses I would be getting full vetting done and x-rays in my opinion.
