i hear from my lofty seat in lexington, that neither William Fox ptt or Rodney Powell cares for being a reserve the first prefering to go to Burghley and the latter blenheim where he thinks he has a really good chance (not if you take a long route when in the lead though rodney) and that means that francis whittington is now likely to be reserve. i also hear that daisy will ride first, mary last and ollie and zara 2 &3. What has HHO heard?

Eventing magazine pretty much confirmed the WFP rumour. Not surprised about RP either as he has had a chequered past with selectors and teams!

I will have a chat with my trainer on Tuesday and see if I can dig up any more info!

WFP rumour is true. Was going to do a post about the article on him in Eventing. It reads (and I quote)

"he (william) is not expecting a call-up for this year's Europeans. The reasons are a.) he believes the selectors will want to trial "new generation" riders so they can be tested prior to the Olympia Games b.) he's saving Tamarillo for Beijing c.)Idalgo, a likley Pratoni contender is off the road with a leg "problem" and d.) he's rather take Ballincoola to Burghley".

Then goes on to say "I don't mind the selectors giving the young guard a shot at the Europeans. I'm much better off with the chance of winning some prize money where Ballincoola has a good record than going to the championships. He's got the abilty to be highly placed and on his day a winner".
