I have had 3 big fall outs on here, i just get rather passionate about what i believe - after a week or so though i just carry on as normal, and even if folk have been really nasty to me on a thread i still post on their threads and welcome advice from them.

What about everyone else ?

Ignore them :)

I've only had one run in with someone on here, she was very rude and got very personal. If she starts a thread I just don't read it. We have commented on the same threads, but I just ignore whatever she writes.

I googled the name of some-one who was trying to belittle me via pms.

I found them to be selling a scabby section A on dragon driving, a youtube video of them riding (I use that term loosely as she was awful) (so much for them competing at HOYS as they stated ;)) and even better than that they had a dating profile up as well

I just put her on UI and spent the evening wondering if it would be fun to wind her up via the dating website . . . . but I couldn't be arsed.

Would have been funny tho . . . . no, must let it go . . . must be the bigger person . . . or should I?? :D

Some people on here can be nasty.. but I don't think there is anyone I've got any bad feelings against or vice versa..
When I have a to-do, one of us usually messages the other and we settle it down and apologise to one another :)

I haven't really fallen out with anybody, only one person many moons ago ;)
I put it behind me, moved on and put it down to us both being narky on the same night :D

I think some posters are too quick to jump to conclusions when sending their reply to a thread, which results if whiskers being frazzled, but asides that I never try to take it personally and hope others do to.

I'm far too forgetful with names to be honest! Only a few stick out and I usually just skim over them if they post in my threads. I do try and be civil most of the time though!

There's a few posters who I'd be suprised if I ever agreed with much they say, however if I did, I wouldn't judge on past disagreements. The majority of the time if I disagree with someone though, I forget about it, & may well agree with their next post. It's only a forum though, so not important if someone doesn't like me. Tbh, that's how I think about rl too.

I don't think it matters who has run ins with who on a forum, or in real life! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, however much it may hurt. If someone starts making comments with a sole purpose of hurting someone, when in actual fact they do not really have those opinions, then that is when it is out of order.

I fall out with loads of people on a regular basis! I still chat and have a laugh, I should expect the adults with whom I banter with feel the same.

I have no emotional attachment to this forum. It's useful and fun.

If I have a run in with someone the longest it'll last is the duration of a thread. I'm too forgetful of who is who at the best of times :o I have a few people on UI because I get irritated by the majority of their posts and would quite like a UI function in person please :D

You cannot read anything they write, whether in posts or starting them - which is fine until someone "quotes" them and then you can, lol. You can still read the rest of the replies in their thread tho x

Have never had one really. My comments did pee off a couple of posters in CR, but I was only asking a pretty civil question and they chose to get offended, and all their friends jumped on me. Their threads always go epic anyway, unless you say nice things, you cant play on their threads. I dont bother posting on their threads any more, have got better things to do and there are more interesting people to talk to. All I did was just not bother to add fuel to the fire with any more comments and laughed it off.

However, I dont like the way sometimes people get very, very rude and personal on here. I guess its an internet forum and people can say what they wish, but somtimes its not called for. A couple of friends of mine wont go on here any more as this has happened to them, and it boiled over into real life as well, which is totally unacceptable in my opinion.

There does appear to be a proper divide between NL and CR - with not many venturing into each others areas..... its quite amusing really.

NL - most think CR are too hard on their horses
CR - most think that NL is full off people that are still going to riding schools and are fuzzy wuzzy people with fulffy wuffy horses

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but going over board is just silly. I have no beef with you GW, but just maybe a tad OTT with Patches posts. But at the same time I will never see your name and go oh it's that GW again. I never carry a grudge and just because I don't like what someone says on one particular thread doesn't mean I think they're useless.

But I do notice a lot of grudge carrying and ignore. I never ignore anyone. Don't see the point. Now on another forum I had one nasty poster degrade nearly everything I said and told me my mare was useless and that she absolutely can't stand me. (I can almost hear people going oh I'd love to thank her!). But whatever. I'm too old to care and was never a cool kid anyway.

PS, Ginger, I go OTT too. Again I like your passion.

Terri

Never fallen out with anyone really, its only the internet! I think at most I've felt vaguely annoyed or like someone has read what I meant wrong, if the latter I might explain and leave it, sometimes people are horrid but not really had any directed at me, I am clearly not controversial enough *goes off and sits back on fence*

If you block someone doesn't it make threads come out all nonsensical like?

No worries EI - the one thing about me is i except id critique - i am not perfect by any means, and i do sometimes read what i have written the next day and think "oh" i can see how that would have come accross then sometimes i read what i posted and think - bloody hell i put that well.

I normally do not spend that much time on here - but we still have no telly and i am on my own all day - so will think twice again now before i willy nilly box rest

CR - most think that NL is full off people that are still going to riding schools and are fuzzy wuzzy people with fulffy wuffy horses

You reckon? I mainly post in CR and find it a little bit saner and less bunnyhuggier, but they are still as mad in there. My daughter also events and there seems to be a big eventing bias there and I ususally get great advice. It can get pretty nasty and the thread to which I referred earlier was in CR, and I dont think I am a very contentious poster - I just asked someone why they posted pictures of themselves riding a horse without a hat.

BTW, are the same person who lost their mare and had some nasty comments about it on her a little while ago? If you are, then I remember thinking how vile they were and how totally uncalled for.

There aint nothing wrong with passion!

I haven't fallen out with anyone on here, well not that I'm aware of ;) but to be honest I try not to get involved when things start getting personal, unless it's something that I really feel strongly about, which did happen the other day, but as far as I'm aware the person I felt I needed to say something to didn't actually take offence, and I've no intention of holding a grudge. I'd rather just get on with enjoying the forum.

Life's too short to get upset with somebody you don't even know really.

Keep calm and carry on........posting!

fo·rum/ˈfôrəm/
Noun:
1. A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
2. An Internet message board.

^^^^ This is all it is, all peoples opinions asked for and all peoples answers and expressions of opinion should be taken on board, good or bad, if you like the answer, use it, if you don't? ignore it and move on! There is some very good advice and knowledge to be had from this forum as on many others but there is and always will be those who know better and can provide helpful and friendly advice, and those who know better or think they do and will tell you so! Pinch of salt....take it or throw it IMO.!!

I have no one on IU and have never got into an argument. It's a forum so you rarely know the truth or full facts. How much do you know about me? Nothing so what is the point of getting wound up about my opinions? Will it change anything? No.

LEC - i know your riding a lovelly horse in your album - but our right thats about it - look two nice events - ie no big pools of mud ! not like we have had up here in the mids since the end of May

never fallen out with anyine on here... not that i can remember but i do find some posters quite judgemental and obnoxious but then other people may think they are fine... i find it hard to ignore people who post on threads i start and sometimes things people say are hurtful but maybe im just too sensitive :o
