My colt has had a terribly runny poo bottom for the past 3-4 days, he hasn't gone on to any lush grazing and his feed and routine hasn't changed. I did however find loads of tiny maggots in his poo whilst poo picking the other day so have given him a dose of wormer as when I worm counted him in march he came back clear but I suspect that may not be the case now.

With all this hot weather I have been worried about his fluid loss so have put some electrolytes in his dinner last night and will do the same today and of course he has a plentiful supply of clean water 24/7.

Anyway.. is there anything else I can do? I may have a word with the vet on Monday if he doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I have this problem with my comp horses.... give him a little feed with a cup of self raising flour in. I know it sounds odd but it works...
