Runny noses - what colour means what

Sorry if this is a stupid question... If your horse has a runny nose or puddles of snot outside his stable what does the colour of it indicate?

clear = okay.
green/yellow = probably an infection. might need veterinary attention.
red/bloody = call the vet.
as a rough guide...

My yard owners mare has greeny colour gunk outside her stable every morning if she doesnt wet her hay, the dust really effects her x

my mare has copd and if theres alot of hay/straw about i quite often find a whitey/yellowy discharge type gunk on the floor, vets said this was nothing to worry about!
