Hi,my horse ran out at last part of water complex(C)y.dayat chilham,so i went back and re-did the whole ABC again as wasnt sure if i had too?? i know if it were numbered as sep elliments i just do last 1 but wasnt sure if you have 2as it was ABC??. Read rule book lastnite but it still doesnt answer my question(unless i didnt find it)thankyou.

Jack asked me the same question at Aston the other day, the rider there just did the second part I think, I'd like to know the correct answer too

If its is A B C you were right to do the whole lot again. If it is seperately numbered, you do just the bit you had the problem at.

That was lucky,i did the correct thing then.Wat if u just re-did the part u missed and not the whole ABC,wud u get elim or just more penalties??

Not sure tbh....

Ive done it Sjing before, just did the secod part of a double (oops!) and was eliminated, dont know if would be the same for BE....

If there is 3 parts SJing you must do the whole lot again but xc is different.

You may either do the whole lot again or just start at the element you had the problem at. It is more normal for people to just represent at the element they had the problem at and then continue. You do not have to do the whole lot again.

Yep S-J's way is correct, you will not be penalised for rejumping a previously jumped bit , a, b. bc etc if you need to jump it to get a line for the bit you ran out in.

In SJ you must repeat the whole combination.

Yes XC you just do the part you ran out at again unless there is no way of getting back to say just part then you do it all.

At Gatcombe this weekend person i worked for pulled the horse out of a part B as he'd pecked after part A which was 2 strides away, due to B being in a barn you can't turn and get back to it with more than 2 strides so you have to go out and jump all of it again. In the rulebook as she read it about 10 times on getting back!

ok,thankyou for all your answers,i still got with-in the time even with doin all 3 parts again,(was nearly be-headed goin under the tree tho)at least i know 4 nxt time!(all good experience) . When i walked the course day b4,someone did say you had to do all 3 parts if u had probs at water,so theres obv a few of us still not 100% on the rules!! Thankgod for the forum!!
