Ruptured cruciate ligament...

Good nooz - no need for another x-ray, vet happy with giving it a good squeeze instead. :D

Bad nooz - a full week of painkillers and house arrest followed by a week of five-minute on-lead walks, followed by physio and hydrotherapy, followed by a strict exercise regime with no hooning for a very long time.

No hooning?!!:eek: Did you explain to the vet that she's a sibe and this will obviously cost you your sanity? :p

The vet has a working-bred cocker, she sympathised hugely. :p

Thanks. :) She's back on four legs and managed to get down the stairs on her own today which was something of a relief. Carrying her out for a pee was giving me massive arms, though. :D

my dobie did both of hers 2 and a half years ago when she was only 2. They did them a week apart. After the first op, I thought omg, no way can she get the other one done that soon, but the next day she was putting weight on it. She was a few weeks of going out to the garden for the loo and back in, then the rest of the time just gentle walking on the lead. It was 3 months in total to recover. Now my mecanno bionic dog is perfect again and you would never know anything had happened. The ops came to £4,600 (thank you petplan). The surgery has to be done by an orthopaedic specialist. The one we had at Broadleys in stirling was outstanding.

The only thing left over is that she sometimes will pace as she got used to doing that before the op as it is an easier gait for them. Bugs the life out of me lol.
