So fed up. I slipped getting out of the bath a month ago and managed (some how) to sever 93% of my achilles tendon in my right leg. My consultant has decided against surgery at the present time, I am in a cast for approximately twelve weeks, then another scan to see if the injury is healing. If it is, I have to be in a cast for a further two months, with about four months of physio following this before I can walk properly and without pain. My consultant said that it could be at least nine months before I can ride my horse again and I'm at my wits end as to what to do.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this kind of injury and if there is anything that I can do to speed up my recovery time at all?
Thanks to anyone who may be able to help me. I'm so fed up.
Thanks.
