Having had horses at home for 20 years i can add myself to the rural crime figures. Sometime yesterday in daylight some low life stole 2 trailer tyres and a back light,2 large heavy duty fence batteries and then came up to my field and un bolted my spare wheel off the trailer. Am amazed they didnt steal it and other things ie rugs. My trailer and field can not be seen from the road so was really worried. My next door neighbour who is a builder was working in the next village today and had a £400 saw stolen right in front of him as they were sitting in the van. He reported it straight away. The culprits have been caught so i am now hoping its the same people,2 young men and that we may get our stuff back. i live in a really quiet low crime area but this appears to becoming so common its scary

I had one of my fence units nicked the other day. I've moved recently and was used to being able to leave stuff out and unlocked. Until we can get proper security I have the barn chained shut and cars parked across the tackroom door and the yard gate.

We lost over 2000 litres of heating oil last month. 3 people on site plus 2 very large dogs and a smaller one. No one heard a thing and they must have a lorry. Worrying!

Unfortunately any-one can see your entire property on GoogleEarth etc. It is very scary, we've had few 'odd' vehicles around lately which considering we are at the end of lane off a no-through road. It all seemed to start when sub-contractors for the WaterBoard parked on the lane and disappeared. Then there was someone offering Tarmac 'left over from patching on the estate' - the nearest estate is a good two miles away! Fortunately all the neighbours seemed to be at home that day and our dog barked very fiercely, so I'm hoping that we don't look like a good prospect for burgling.
