rural riders CIC 2 * ?

Well its now known as the European CIC**, but I guess who already knew that! Last year was its inaugural running, and GB's chef d'equipe was Dick Waygood.

I believe all members of the team (8?) do a dressage test together, followed later by an indivuidal test. Think the jumping scoring may be more simplified too.

Sorry I can't be of more information. Surely BE has some information on it, and elgibility etc, under their international teams?

Ask sarahjane, she was shortlisted for it last year. It's run every other year, the next one will be 2009. You have to be a BRC member, but BE are backing it much more heavily recently. Selectors like good intermediate form, with some ** experience a bonus.

LL - it's been going for years, since at least the 80s, it's just BE have only recently seen it's value!

ETS: if you've done a 3* you can't do it as far as I know.

Lady i work for is doing training this year for the rural riders. If you did well at the riding club champ they get in touch ( she won her open section) if they dont get in touch you can contact them. Zebedee on here will help. Good luck .

It used to be only under the riding club banner but they've finally realised it would be better as BE thing. The original invitation many years ago was translated literally and passed to riding clubs as the nearest thing but of course things are done so differently on the continent!!

is the link to the Riding club page about it. You still have to be a RC member but we had someone join a couple of years ago for that purpose and then everything else was dealt through BE with training sessions and specific events they asked you to compete at so you could be watched.
Think it's a good way for those not going to get onto World class squads to get some access to good coaching as long as your horse can cope with working in a ride for the team dressage
