If your cab of your horse box is really rotten is there anything you can do to fix it or is there a limit to what welding will fix? Thanks

Pretty much anything is possible if you have enough money to throw at it! If it's really that rotten, then the only way to save it properly would be to have new panels, either bought (if you can get them) or fabricated by a bodywork specialist. Very expensive thing to do and unless there's something really special about it, probably not worth doing.

If the box is any good, can you have it fitted to a new(er) sound chassis?

You'll need a VERY tame welder - more or less doing it for love not money - to make it cost effective.

One option, if the mechanicals are really good, is to buy another cab and switch it over. Be careful, it needs to match in every respect, but it may be worth exploring.

It's the floor pan. The lorry is nothing special. Can't afford to replace the lorry or chassis so just wondered if u could literally weld the whole of the floor of the cab. Look like the lorry is a goner.

My mechanic welded the entire floor of my lorry and sorted out both doors. Cost about £600 but my lorry is very nice in every other respect so worth doing the work to!

A rough but strong floor repair should be pretty easy, but you do need someone who knows what they are doing to see what other horrors lurk. Visible rust is usually tip of the iceberg stuff!

If you haven't got a tame welder, ask around. A local (small scale man and dog type) horsebox builder might be able to suggest one....
