I'm looking for a Riding School in the South Somerset area for a few lessons to get myself 'back into it'. I'm by no means a beginner, I've been around horses all my life and have done work experience at a stud, but for the last few years it has been mainly on the ground. So I am extremely rusty in the saddle and would really like somewhere that is patient enough to help me get back to where I was, and hopefully improve. We do have a family horse at home, so I do ride occasionally at the moment, but it is literally just plodding down the lanes and I would really like to get back into 'proper' riding in the school. This horse we have at home is unfortunately only suitable for light hacking due to an ongoing issue with soundness. So I would really like to find somewhere in the local area with a friendly instructor that is happy to take things slow, on a horse / horses that will give me confidence and re-teach me the basics (it has been SO long since I last rode in the school, even the basics like diagonals and canter leads are a distant memory, so I would need even those things reminding.....) I'm not looking to compete or anything long term, just to ride confidently at a good standard, flatwork and maybe eventually confident enough to pop a small fence. But I just really want some lessons to get back my riding as a hobby and also get me some exercise that I actually enjoy!! I am around the 12 stone mark so I know I might be classed as too heavy for some places
