Ruth Edge - Fell

I thought that too.
She was quite capeable to stand up and grab a rein.

It was a bit weird that wasn't it. I have to admit though on some occasions when my horse has dumped me and bu**ered off, I've not been in a hurry to be re-united with it!

Maybe she should try and get the French horse ridden by the muppet early on.

The horse didn't bugger off though, it stood there, she did nothing, so it wandered off to somebody who cared!

In fairness she had just had a pretty nasty fall into water halfway through one of the toughest XC courses in the world... she probably wasn't quite with it!

TBH she might have been a bit shocked to suddenly find herself in the water because she had a great line and the horse just left a leg.

Ive just been on the Badminton site and noticed that it said she had been eliminated, but I didnt realise she had fallen

I'd love to see any of you have a fall on a xc course like that and be with it enough to go straight for the horse if you're feeling a bit dazed. If it were my horse as long as I could see it stood up and in one piece I'd take a second to compose myself aswell after taking a nasty ducking.

TBH she had just had a pretty nasty fall, it takes time for you to realise whats just happened and no doubt she would have been in shock and not quite with it. Very different to falling off at something like a 2" cross pole and then grabbing your horse.

Quite. Plus if you get up too quickly after a fall like that if you're not quite with it, you're quite likely to fall flat on your face again

Well said Super Kat, like to see how these sofa critics would react if they were in the same situation!!

Ruth is a bloody good horsewoman, and I imagine alot was going thorugh her head at that paricular moment!!!!!!

Just watching the video and the French rider Pierre DuBois was appalling. He made it to the end intact, and his horse deserves a medal for carrying him around. He was unbalanced, threw the horse in too fast and was a hindarance. If he carries on riding like that, he will end up as a statistic...

What relevance is that? You can see that some riders are good, some average and a minority f'ing awful clearly as a spectator. When a horse ploughs a furrow with its face after a drop fence because the rider kicked it too hard in, its plain to see. When an expert collects the horse back and pops it gracefully, its also plain to see.
