My BF bought me some Rydale Malham boots for christmas. I take a size 6 normaly and had been told that they were good size wise. So he ordered me the size 6. When they arrived they were huge! my BF could fit his size 9 feet in to them. So we sent them back. They then sent me the size 5, they have arrived this morning and the one boot fits well, but the other... is too small (?) I've measured the souls of them and there is half a cm difference. Getting rather annoyed here now

So do i sent these back and ask for another pair of size 5s? or shall i just ask for my money back and buy something similar? Anyone got any suggestions as to what? Id love a pair of dubbarys! but i really cant afford them

It is probably worth pursuing a pair the right size. They are fab value for money and very comfy. I would make a point of how much inconvenience you have been caused though, in the hopes they knock a bit off the price!

Thats strange because I ordered my usual size and they are a perfect fit! This sounds silly but you sure your OH didn't order the male ones that were available before christmas would explain why they were huge.

When we phoned up to ask about returning them they said that they had had a batch made that where labeled size 6 but were actually size 9, so this could explane it. But we sent them back and they then phoned us to say that they were the size 6, there was nothing wrong with them. I cant understand why theres half a centimeter difference between the size 5 boots though? When both boots should be the same size. Surely that says that there sizing is inconsistent?

If it were me I personally would buy the Dublin River Boots for an extra few quid. A girl at our yard has them, and I have the Dubarry's and I swear there is almost no difference between them. I can't comment on comfort etc for them, but IMO they look nicer than the Rydale versions.

Oh right i see. I dont want to be sending boots backwards and forward and i need some boots to wear asap so i think i might just ask for the money back and get some of the Dublin ones, i know country wide sell them so i can go and try them on too - ideal

I got the Rydale ones - im usually a 6 but got a 5 1/2 one was slightly smaller when i got them but now they're warn in there ok! Very comphy too.

My friend had Dublin's which she didnt even have for a year, didnt ride in the just wore them to the yard and the lining is buggered now! She's in the process of getting a replacement pair (hopefully) after sending those ones back to Dublin!

I love mine.

I tried them on as I bought them from the stall at the gamefair, to be honest I'v always advised people to go up a size, because the 5's (which is the size I take) although were not tight in the foot but were a bit awkward to pull on near the ankle, so I went for a 6, which is better because you'd normally want a big thick pair or sock or few on in winter anyway and I prefer them a bit more baggy around the top so you can also get your jeans into them without being too tight.

I'd certainly buy some more, however mine have just started to leak but I have lived in them for 9 months, dog walk/ride/muck out...they have really had some abuse and have lasted me longer than any other riding/country boot I've ever had!....so to get 9 months out of them is a novelty for me
