Oh yes definitely agree with you on that one! OH's staffie seems to be constantly making that noise and it drives me NUTS!

How strange. When we were at the vet's over Christmas, the vet nurse told me that they dread getting an American Bulldog in because, apparently, they are the biggest babies and cry all the time.

it's not yackling, they are just singing and yes ours used to do it too. On the one occasion where she was left at the vets they phoned me to collect her the second she came round.

The owners of last nights where phoned and they could not get transport...(whatever) I think if your dog goes to the vets for an operation...u have to pick the bloody thing up...hence u need transport

my vet said mine sounded like a goat being strangled ,

i stayed with my boy till he went under and was there when he came round , and took him home as soon as i could, poor boy was hand reared and is 13 years old now , hes used to me being there for him

Cala - it's good to hear that your place is staffed all night. When we had to leave our very poorly little BT at the vets there was no overnight supervision

My lurcher Alf had to go to the vet last week as he was vomiting and he screamed when the vet gave him an anti vomit drug under the skin of his neck with a GERBILS needle!

A goat being strangled...it possibly a good description of the noise they make
grin.gif
....u would think most owners would want their dogs back Asap...but not these bloody morons

Its common unfortunately...and discusting IMO....what the hell is the point in animals being left unattended....when the whole point is to monitor them
crazy.gif

Im sure to be liscenced for OOH....wherby an animal is left in a hospital...it must be manned.
confused.gif

All of our hospitals are manned 24-7 365 days of the year

Haha,

When my boy went in to have his operation on his elbows, pulled up in the car park to collect him & could hear this howling, said to my hubby, OMG don't like that sound of that poor dog.

You guessed it - it was mine. Never heard the like of it before but he is forgiven, poor pet went through such a big operation.

He has this really funny little ritual every morning too - he has his breakfast, then goes into the living room, pulls a cushion down from the sofa & then howls, no idea why he does it, every morning the same thing - bizarre.
