S of E PN Report.........

[Hattikins]

Well didnt all go according to plan! Got into the dressage warm up arena and did 10 mins of lovely uphill work

cue - little break and was really chuffed. 5mins later i turned to continue warming up and she just exploded - it was never ending for about 20mins as she continued to leap off all 4's atleast 3ft in the air with twists and leaps and vaguely taking off!!

Had Sharon Hunt and Lucy Wiergersma warming up quietly around me and they gave me some very very odd looks

would have felt embaressed had i not been concentrating more on staying on and trying to get rid of all her explosions intime for our test!!!!!!!!

Anyway finally got her working really nicely if a little tense!

and she went in bless her and produced a really respectable test (considering her antics outside!)

Went off to get ready for the SJ which as usual was causing something close to carnage - Thank you Mr Lear

She warmed up really nicely, had a long chat with Brian who made me go and warm up again just before i went in so she was really picking up and buzzy

She went in a jumped beautifully - really looked after me when i made several striding errors

and came out clear - minus a shoe! So had the shoe put back on very efficiently!

Rushed over to the XC and she warmed up brilliantly - really buzzy and my adrenaline running! Set off as we meant to continue and just flew

Was absolutely awesome - just ate up the course and flew home 20secs under the time

So with a 31.5 dressage

and double clear we came 2nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only beaten by Sam Jennings who was 1 second closer to the time than me!

Totally over the moon - really chuffed with my girlie! finally havent let her down

couldnt believe i was warming up in such esteemed company to find Hattie was a total prat infront of them!!!!!! felt like the village idiot!

was quite funny though - at least i managed to stay on i guess!!

She was such a happy horse today - really fit and well and most importantly loving her job!

yup just borde hill and then the old naglet can have a little bit of SJ in preparation for the Oli Townend final in november and then she can have a couple of weeks completely off competing or going anywhere and a week totally off exercise and then we'll slowly bring her back and SJ!

Well done! I'm sorry I didn't get to see you - I wanted to but I popped over to South of England this morning for a wander and walked xc etc but parents wanted to go to Brighton for the afternoon so as I am the guest I had to go along with that plan!

Fab run though - well done you and so nearly a win!

Yes bought lots of nice stuff - 2 pairs of shoes, 2 jumpers...the list goes on! Ooops! Followed by a nice meal and most of a bottle of wine I am ready to go to sleep...wooohoo it's my birthday tomorrow! hehe

I heard the commentator when you was Sjing, think I as just walking into warm up! And was in XC warm up as you cam through finish - saw you give her a big pat and thought ooo she will be please with that after you couple of silly mishaps XC at PN - very please for you!

Course was nice wasnt it - thought the SJing was very up to height and cause carnage!! Not many clears at all looking at results so you did very well!

Well done thats great, qualified for regionals as well. We have decided to do one more this year as he has only done 6 or 7 so doing Draycott.

Yup Hattsy finally got the result she deserved

But as Mr Lear said to me "you cant keep blaming yourself - at the end of the day you're a partnership and have to work together" we seem to be getting there finally

Course was lovely!! SJ was always going to cause carnage - Brian loves to build SJ so we have to show jump it NOT event it!

there were only 9 SJ clears in my section

bless Hattsy went round from fence 5 onwards with no near fore shoe!

Which is probably why I had 2 down! Had no 3 and 1st part of the double! Was fine with the bl**dy planks! Just chased he a bit at those other fences. Oh well more practise and fingers crossed for nxt time out. Although I HATE Borde Hill SJing arena!! So tight and slopey!!

Thought the XC course was tougher then the PN seemed last year and noticed the trekaner at 11 was in the Novice last year!

Thank you we have one pn qual but would like another. He was great at Gatcombe novice but had one sj so can still do prenovice.

I wish he had been building at then events I've been to! The more twisty and horrible looking the course is the better Badger jumps! Give him something easy (i.e. intro) and he's a clumsy sod!

Sounds like Hattie is just fab all the time though!
