Right - I'm seriously not sure I'm allowed to do this but there have been a couple of posts from people looking for a horse to ride/exercise so I hope it's ok to come at this from the opposite angle. Someone let me know please if I've committed a terrible sin.
About 15 months ago I took on a rescued mare who was close to being pts from terrible neglect and ragwort poisoning. We have pulled her back from the brink and now you would never know there is anything wrong with her. She is a fat and happy 14.2 coloured gipsy cob with a sweet, calm and unflappable nature but she can suss out weakness and demand her own way if allowed to! I love her to bits and there have been some tears shed about how far she has come when she had almost given up the will to live.
She is doing so amazingly well that she's been sent for backing and is due home in 2 weeks. The problem is I have a dodgy knee (poss torn cartilage) and can't even ride my veteran, let alone a newly backed 12 yr old. If her education doesn't continue, all the 6 weeks of hard work will be wasted. So I am looking for a careful, confident, quiet rider who would enjoy the challenge of bringing on a newly backed 12 yr old! That person would have a loan horse for free as I would continue to pay her livery, feed, bedding, supplements, vets fees etc. You could take her to shows or teach her to jump or drive. I think she'd do great as a dressage horse as she has such lovely paces. All the fun in the world waiting for the right person, wrapped up in a coloured cob body lol!
Ammanford is just outside Swansea and the yard is lovely with a 20x60 outdoor school, great people, yard activities, static caravan for tea, coffee, cream cakes and long horsey chats. Anyone interested, please let me know x
