OK so I'm treating myself to a new bridle and have been measuring my existing (full size) bridle against the Sabre sizing chart on their website. Now, my Horse is a 16.2hh ISH and I wouldn't say his head was overly large however, when I measure my own bridle against the Sabre sizes it puts him more in the over size bracket. The exception would be the noseband but it doesn't tell you the over the head measurement. The full size Sabre would put the cheekpieces near the bottom but would be fine elsewhere. The oversize he would be just shorter than mid length and he definately needs an oversize browband. How do others find they come up for size?

Secondly, looking at their hunter breastplate. How does the sizing on that come up?? Many thanks.

i do think Sabre bridles come up quite small - especially the brow bands so not suprised its showing as oversized for yours! but they are great, i've had mine for about 10 years (used for 2 different horses) and it still looks great.

I had a Sabre for my 16.2 WB and it fitted him a treat in every department. He is now retired and i use it on my new neddy a 16hh Irish Draft X? however although it fits him a treat also i had to get an oversized browband.
Wish i could lend you mine to try, they are lovely bridles.

Give Sabre a call/email - I bought my bridle direct from them and had it pieced together in different sizes as I needed a cob size noseband/cheekpieces and full size everything else!

They were really helpful and gave good advice re sizing.

I love Sabre! Ive got 4 Sabre Eton Bridles and love them, even the oldest comes up like new! If you buy direct from them they are really quick and lovely to deal with. I agree with the browbands coming up small though i just got them to swop my cob for a full size one.
