My horse has just been diagnosed with this condition. I am finding it really hard to manage as he seems to of lost all bladder control so is constantly urinating on his hind legs. He is going to start medication as from tomorrow with a drug that stimulates bladder control so this is my only remaining hope. The horse is 11 years and when I have researched the condition until I am blue in the face and my conclusion is that it is 50/50 but most horses seem in their 20's when they get it bad, if anyone has had a horse with this problem I would love to hear from you-thanks.

yes we had an older horse of 25 with it. There is not alot you can do and sadly in his case he ended up having to be pts as the urine was burning his skin. You can try vaseline smeared down his back legs to see if it helps protect his skin a bit but you will need to keep reapplying it often.

Thanks for the reply, can I ask how old he was when diagnosed with it and did it just get steadily or rapidly worse-thanks!
