Well as you all know I have been having trouble with my daughters lack of commitment at the moment and after my husband refusing my offer to purchase his half of the pony I decided that I could do no more and returned the pony to his care. He wants to sell the pony and use the money to purchase another one for her but as we both agreed our divorce would be a "clean break" then either we have to settle everything financially ie he gives me my half of what the pony is worth when it is either sold to a third party or if he decided to keep it.

Anyway i feel rather down today as I found going to the stables each day a release from the pressure of work and my divorce. Also my boyfriend liked going down and filling haynets, doing the water etc.

On a more positive note he has said I should start looking for something sooner rather that later that I can ride and enjoy - I haven't been able to ride properly or compete since I was a teenager so that is something I am gonna look forward to in 2008.

Sorry to hear that but it sounds like a clean break of everything is a good idea. Looks like you have lots to look forward to in 2008 - Good luck.

Thanks

I have been scanning all the websites I can possibly think of!!!!

Budget is however limited and I know pretty much what I want so if anyone can help me with:
Between 15 - 15.3 no TB types as too fine. Has to be excellent to hack alone and in company and have perfect manners in and out of the stable, with the farrier and vet and anyone novicey (just in case BF takes to the field etc!!!). Good to box both in trailer and lorry. all vaccinations, worming up to date and no fussy feeders - a good doer would be better all this for a lady of about 10.5 - 11 stone (will promise to loose weight with all riding and mucking out!!!) and 5 foot 4 inches tall.

There is nothing around here and as this is the first real opportunity I have had since a kid I really want something I can bond with and noone can take away from me - that may sound silly but its just how i feel!!!

I do know how you feel, my horse is on loan and i worry all the time that his owner might want him back, i am happy to buy him but i dont think the owner wants to - Boo Hoo, there are couple of people on the channel islands on this forum, but i cant remember who, maybe post and ask if they know of any horses.
Good Luck and I am sure you will find what you are looking for xxx

Thanks for your kind words of support. I know there are a couple of fellow channel islanders on here - Not sure I want a horse that "local" though!!!!!

Good luck in your search - there is a breeder on Jersey near St Helier. She used to do trekking as well but I can't remeber her name I'm afraid
