I'm so sorry to hear that Leviathan.

I'd get a sign up on the entrance stating that anyone entering the grounds without prior appointment will be prosecuted. The last thing you want is them coming up during your last moments.

You can look into her eyes knowing that you have done the best you can for her and that is all that any animal can ask of their owner, that and to be let go peacefully when the time comes that there isn't an alternative xx
 
My old girl was put down 3 weeks ago. She was a victim of old age. I couldn't fight time so I stopped it in its tracks. Think of it like I did - being PTS is a guaranteed cure for all ailments. Now I know she won't deteriorate any more. I have no regrets.

I found out yesterday from a livery that when the vets up tuesday (2 vet cars in car park and farrier)

That 3 ((*(&^%$) from next door were pinned to their gate looking into our car park at the vet cars. prob wondering or wanting know the situation :mad::mad::mad::mad: why don't they bugger off and leave me and my yard alone to grieve and say goodbye in piece.

What a load of nasty individuals they are...obviously they all lead extremly boring lives. Is there anyone (big burly menacing look bloke) who can go and tell them in a firm but polite manner to leave your yard alone...I have some understanding of what you are going through and wouldnt wish it on my worse enemy.
 
I hope you don't think I am being flippant at this sad time, but those a-holes next to you are the pits. Therefore I am willing to photocopy my bottom and send it to you to pin up. Give them something to look at.

I cannot believe they wont leave us/ me alone. I am dreading the day in question for obvious reasons. I bet they will all be at the gate as soon as her taxi to the rainbow arrives. Then they will wish me condolences which are fake and say oh i am sorry. Well if they are that sorry they would not do it and would offer me support instead of this.

I do not want ANY oh I am sorry from ANY 1 from that yard. The only one i might will be J as she was a livery till a few weeks ago. No 1 else.

But you bet eggs is eggs. They will sniff around after and want to know why vet here or who went in the horse taxi.

I have already decided I want nothing to do with anyone from there except J as her vehicle is is in livery here .

Hold your head high, and pretend they're just a figment of your imagination.. it would be highly insensitive if them to start pretending they care, and if they were to be that way, i'd pretend to care about them.. smile to their face, and stab them in the back sort of way ;)

Suggest that maybe arrange for the box to come very late in the evening, when they should have gone home.. don't tell anyone, even your friends, when and what time, go about as normal, right up until the last min.. keep everyone guessing xx

We lost our little pony a few weeks ago and it's been so hard.

The day was perfect for it tho and our fab vet and nurse came out after he had a few hours out in the field.
Ignore those over the road. They have no life. Pm me if you want a chat. We both have the same vets so I know when the time comes you both are in the best of hands.

If multiple other horse owners are concerned your horse is still alive, that's a sure sign you need to take a serious look at the situation. it sounds like it is hopeless. even on high dose pain killers she will be uncomfortable. Give her a big bucket of feed and send her on the kindest journey asap.

I have told vets I want her to be taken on her own not with another horse, vets say they have to do it early morning then, next door stay there till 10pm ish and the first arrives 7am ish

Usually when they pick up they pick up 2 or 3 at a time. I do not want that. I want her to travel solo

So, so sorry. I have wished so hard for this to be a good ending for you. No one could have fought harder to make a horse well, as you have. Be strong for your girl on Monday. She will be in peace and pain free to gallop and graze on lush meadows over the rainbow bridge.
 
Im so sorry to read this, i have followed your story right the way through, your mare was poorly a similar time to mine and you have me advice on lami etc. sadly i lost my gelding in september and completely understand what your going through. Its never easy and i miss him so much still but...i couldnt do anymore for him and he let me know it was time.

I have had neg from some about my mare which is why only a select few will see them. :) Hard to smile cry mostly
 
I am so, SO sorry for your situation and I hope you can remember all the wonderful times you've had.

Just imagine that she is galloping off and into your dreams, where I'm sure you'll see her again. And she'll be free again.

So sorry for you, have been there, you will learn to cope in time.
I would suggest snipping a piece of her tail and have it made into a bracelet, then she will always be with you, it helped a livery of ours years ago after having her old boy pts.

Levi..... - the only thing you need to think about is how kind you are being to your little girl - and by understanding what she is going through I know you are 100% doing the right thing for her.

You need to be strong, be brave, and dont let her final weekend with you be filled with sadness - and as much as i know you want her to stay - she cannot - she needs to rest now.
