Sad looking hooves

My horse has very dry, cracked hooves. He is shod on the front feet andisn't too bad holding a shoe. We had the farrier out today, and he agreed. I was just wondering what i could do? I have a hoof mousturiser but to be honest, it has done nothing!

Try wheat germ or biotin, used both in the past with poor feet and they worked well.

I found a hoof suppliment the only thing that really made a difference.I use top spec balancer because it has a hoof supp inc in feed.Although my horse has collapsed heels his quality of hoof horn is really good esp for tb.

I use Hoof Heal on my TB's feet and it works a treat, hardens up the feet ans moisurises them. My friends TB when she got him lost 3 of his shoes in 2 days with another one halfway off. His feet were so bad he couldn't be walked on concrete for 3 weeks because they were so brittle and cracked. The Hoof heal sorted his feet to be able to have shoes back on afer 4-5 weeks.

try some cornucresine (sorry - can't spell it!) but apply to whole hoof not just coronary band - I had a TB mare who was dire at holding onto shoes and this helped - it's a slow process though.
