Sad loss of Carrot

:( a wee bit tearful reading that x rip carrot x just glad you and spud were found when you were and got to spend the last of your days peacefully, happily, loved and well cared for. Here's to two very special horses, proper fighters at heart who story touched so many people. Here's to barnsby and all their fantastic work with carrot, spud and their friends and to hovis and sids mum, for her excellent diary and fundraising

RIP x

Thanks Queenbee.
Just a little reminder that book number 2 will hopefully be out in a week or so's time and once again all the money is going to Bransby, to help the next Carrot and Spud.

I also second everyones comments to Andy and Chloe - amazing people who should be given huge praise for raising the awareness of those elderly boys xx

RIP Carrot :(

They were both very lucky to have lots of fabulous care for their last years - certainly better then starving to death in the field they were in. I know that Bransby will only have ever done their very best for him , as they do with all thier horses. To be honest it is a tribute to them that both of them lived as long as they did - on the day we rescued them and took them to Bransby they were in a bad way. After the vet inspection there with both of them being given a bidy score of 0 I fully expected a phone call at any time to say they hadn't made it. In fact we thought Carrot may be PTS in the field and not even get to Bransby:o

RIP Carrot & Spud - sleep well lovely boys :)

Here are some piccys from a visit I made to see them both :)

Very sad, RIP old boy, thank god the chap posted on here that night and it got those poor boys out of that terribly sad situation, and they received all the love and kindness and care they deserved at Bransby

I wasn't a member when the story of Carrot and Spud was first shared on here.

I have just been through the first thread and I must say this, I have never been so proud before to belong to HHO. I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the members. I not only shed a tear for Carrot and Spud, but also a happy tear because I was so emotional reading how everyone came together and helped these 2 poor boys.

Thanks to Andy, Chloe and the HHO forum the 2 boys were able to spend their last years being treated with love, kindness and respect.

RIP Spud and Carrot xxxx

RIP Carrot and roam free with Spud. I was'nt a member of HHO forum when this happened but it makes me feel proud of those that fought so hard to get these horses away from such a dreadful existence. Keep up the good work with Hovis's diary, I have read both books over and over again and look forward to buying the next.
