So the last few weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster, in a mostly bad way!!
I have really been struggling with jumping one of my horses. Lilly is such a drama queen, is really melodramatic and I just couldn't ride her down to fence at all. It got really depressing and I was close to tears on many a occasion. I was also getting fed up with hacking and schooling her. She is never naughty but is always so keen, power marching, being strong and rude. She just isn't easy to ride, well I don't find her easy
I outsourced the riding of her to a fellow HHO'er and realised I was quite enjoying not riding her. That was the first bad sign. Realised I needed to do something with her so called my friend to ask if she wanted her, she said yes straight away, only if we did a deal and I had one of her youngsters! Ive already got 2 babies so I figured whats one more
This was Monday, I visited Tuesday and we swapped yesterday. Like a plaster, rip it off quickly (but with lots of tears) Lilly got there and of course was fine!
I was very upset, I really hoped she and I would have lots of fun adventures but it wasn't meant to be. She will be much happier hacking and doing some BD and maybe even getting pregnant.
I feel proud of what we achieved even if it wasn't as much as I hoped
Before..
After..
The day got happier when we caught my new pony, it was short lived when I saw what he looked like...
Gulp!! He has just lived in a field for his first four years so he had a bit of a shocking afternoon, into the truck, a 2 hour journey home, got out looking filthy and a bit sweaty so had his first bath (not impressed pony but was good!) and spent the night inside (for the first time too!)
Cleaner, less hippo like pony...
Got up to see him this morning and he looked cheery
We went to have a little look in the school...
And even had a teeny go at lunging for the first time...
Then went to do some eating! Looks MUCH cleaner!!
So the aim with him is I'll back him and see what he turns into, we shall see...
Meanwhile my other 4 yo has been having fun hacking mostly but she did have her first go at jumping avec human over some XXXXXXXtreme jumps...
Hacking...
Its so mad to think that shes the grown up one now!!!
Not to forget the cuteness... Look what I got today... Looking pretty relaxed already!!

So sad, good, fun and cute mostly!
