Hi, just wanted to say thank you so much for all your time, vibes, suggestions etc.
Oscar's results are in and have come up as inconclusive. The only option available was a high dose of steroid and no turnout for at least a month and see if that has an effect. That option may work if it is IBD and not tumors. Spoken to my vet and he basically said its not fair on Oscar to try that and he would have very little quality of life based on how poorly he now is. Unfortunately he is going to be PTS on wed.
To try him on steroids now again would either kill him due to his condition and the heart murmur that develops on steroids or keep him going until the end of summer. Neither option is fair as much as I want them to be.

Completely eating me up inside and no idea how I am going to get through this. His is my best friend and such an amazing special animal that has fought with me, loved me, protected me and been there through everything. The least I can do is ensure he does not suffer unduly any longer. He will always be there and I have an amazing pencil drawing of him, a lovely scar with plate and screws from Nov fun in the field, a beautiful bracelet from his tail hair and a lifetime of memories. He will always be 'my sexy amazing man'!!!

Sorry for ranting I just need to get this down somewhere. It is like I am an outsider looking in!

Thanks again for your support it really has meant a lot that total strangers are willing to take time to try and help

Just came across this as not often in Horse Care and Feeding but just wanted to say how sorry I am you are to lose your horse, I hadn't followed your posts about him but you are doing the right thing, thinking of you.

So sorry to hear about this :(
Treasure the memories you have of him - you are doing the most loving thing for him. What a lucky boy to have found you.

Thinking of you xx

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending you lots of hugs. As others have said he's had a great life with you and you are doing the best thing for him. xxx

Thank you for your support. He has gone. Fought right to the end bless him but he went peacefully with dignity and I was with him the whole time. My vet was amazing too, so much respect for him and so gracious for everything he has done x
