So - as from next friday i will be horseless for the first time in over 20 years! As i am pregnant with first baby, due in august, i made the hard decision that i would have to be sensible and sell my boy & my lorry!

Had first viewing on horsey last sunday morning, loved him, left deposit, had vetting yesterday and passed and is going on friday. Sunday afternoon had lorry viewing, deposit taken and was collected monday night!!

Considering the market is generally so bad i was so lucky to have found a lovely home for my boy although lots of mixed emotions at the moment

Poor you, I think you have been very sensible, I had my first baby last September and am struggling to ride twice a week. It is hard but I am lucky to have great family support - Mum and Sister both help and we share the work. I sometimes think it would be easier to sell him but he is more like a pet to me and I just couldn't do it. I am already worryng about next winter though - care and cost, especially when I go back to work! Chin-up the time will come again when you can start over and enjoy horses again. x

Ooh, I did the complete opposite, had my first baby and bought a second horse when she was 9 months old :).

Thankfully, I have a very understanding OH.

I'd had mine 15 years when I got pregnant, it wasn't even discussed that I'd have to sell him.

Sorry you've had to give yours up :(.
