Very sad. Unclear though on how the dog died. Did the suspect drown the dog? I don't understand what happened..

I have not, as yet, been a desperate criminal or murder suspect, but were I, and if it looked as though a dog were about to scupper my bid to escape justice, I would no doubt be prepared to do whatever to make sure it failed.

Just wondering how many human Police officers are killed per year versus dogs. I think it may be more...

However, I think we need to consider the use of animals for any human assistance. They have not signed up to be cuddled, lead people around or face death.

This is really local to me and I have friends in the police and the devastation is heartfelt around various departments and various forces.
There is a fund raiser in Zyla's memory which has raised over £5000 so far for the thin blue paw.
