Just to give me some idea of length, do you think a 16" saddle would be too big for a Welsh Sec A. I have narrowed the make of saddle down but need a saddle, ideally, to fit pony obviously but also to fit an older rider up to 8-8.5 stone.

How big is the pony and what size rug does it take?

I have a 15" on my Section A, a 16" was to long. She is 12hh, quite long in the back and wears a 5'0" rug.

My welsh A had a 14.5" saddle made for him as nothing else fitted. It might be worth speaking to your saddler about the griffin PC saddles, my saddler recommended them but unfortunately my ponys back was too dipped.

A 15" is too long for my 12.1, I would say for an 11.2 a max of 15" if not less. This is the problem when you have bigger riders with the littlies. What about a treeless, might be more forgiving seatwise, just a thought.
