So , im really struggling to find a saddle for my beasty.

He is a 16.2 Zangersheide warmblood, Typical warmblood shape, flat back, long sloping wither, nothing freak shaped about him (well, apart from his brain, but thats another story and shouldnt alter saddle fitting)

Over the 6+ months iv had him, I have had an absolute nightmare getting a fitted saddle for him. Got a prestige , then our "local" rep decided it was too far to travel for one horse, Had a saddle company one, took him for fitting, and that seemed ok at first, but tended to "drop" and push on his withers after 10 minutes of riding/ once he had warmed up. And now have a kent and masters, that is a near fit, however fits closer on one side, and needs a pad under, despite having my saddler come, template him, then take the saddle away for gullet change/ re-stuffing. Have also used an albion, but again wasnt quite right,

So I just wondered what saddles people had/ reccomended for this sort of horse, Jumping saddle ,Must have decent knee thigh blocks.

In perticular im interested to hear opinions on the Barnsby 7 series VSS, and the Ideal Grandee with jumping blocks, but of course any other suggestions would be welcome

:) xx

http://www.nativeponysaddles.com/ - don't be deceived by the name, they will fit to any sort of horse - if your horse is flat backed then their trees should suit him.
The website doesn't have much on it, but give them a call or an email - fantastically helpful

will look into it thanks, he could possibly have too much wither though if there suited to natives as the name would suggest, will definatley look into it though x

id suggest trying a kieffer aachen, all though a gp they have good knee rolls and are cut back on the pommel to allow for a high wither. I normally find it makes a couple of inches difference to a standard cut gp.

other plus sides.. you can choose a seat width, and the TREE (not the gullet ) is fully adjustable if you search kieffer aachen it will bring up the original website.
